Mayor Brown served on the Clyde City Council from 2005 to 2013 and now is extremely honored and humbled to serve as the Mayor of Clyde.
His goal is to work with council and staff to make and sustain Clyde as the home that everyone would feel at home to live in, and that everyone who visits here will feel the same hospitality and warmth that his family did when they moved back home. It is his goal to ensure that Clyde continues to grow and can offer the citizens all that they need and want and should expect from their hometown.

Tammie’s earliest memories involve Clyde. Best were trips to the grocery with Grandma McIntosh who did not drive, so Oak Street was a well-traveled footpath. Much time has passed since those preschool days, including graduation from Hamlin High School, attendance at West Texas State University, marriage, and birth of 3 children. 1992 brought the family home to Clyde to occupy the McIntosh homestead. Completion of baccalaureate studies in nursing occurred at McMurry University once all the children were in various Clyde schools. The following years included much caring for cancer patients, parenting of teenagers, single life and eventually marriage to Terry Coffman. How two people with three generations of Clyde roots did not intersect prior to 2004 is a mystery! Graduate study at Hardin Simmons University resulted in master’s degree in nursing (2012) and Doctorate in Education in Leadership in Higher Education (2017). Tammie is currently teaching the next generation of nurses at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Abilene. Giving back to the community and coming generations is high priority and great joy for both Tammie and husband, Terry.
Thomas R Martin attended school at Cooper High in Abilene has lived in Clyde for the past 18 years. His wife is from Clyde and graduated in 1999. They have 3 children. One child graduated from Clyde in 2018 and two that are still attending Clyde CISD.
Danny A. White, his wife, and youngest son moved to Clyde in 2001. However, his grandparents moved to Clyde in the late 50s where they owned and operated White’s RV Park. Danny is employed by Flo-Rite Fluids, Inc. located in Clyde. Danny is also part of the WHO (Wise Street Helpers organization) and can smoke some mean brisket and ribs. Danny feels being part of the WHO and City Council provides him opportunities to give back to the community.
